Packages and prices
You can select the type of tuition that will best suit your child’s needs from our range of packages. We offer both traditional home tuition and remote online tutorials.
One to One Home Tuition £25 per hour
Group Tuition £45 per hour
Online Tuition £12.50 per half hour
Combined Package (60m Home tutorial + 15m Online Tutorial) £30 per 75mins
Tutorials are booked and paid for in advance in blocks of 6 or 12*.
*We are able to offer a 10% reduction for blocks of 12 or for families booking sessions for more than one child
Home tuition – One to One £25 per hour
Children are often much more relaxed in the secure and familiar surroundings of their own home. This enables them to relax and become more receptive to learning new skills and developing new concepts.
Difficulties experienced during lessons at school can often cause children to put up barriers to learning. Working on such ‘problems’ with their tutor, in a fun way at home, allows children to lower these barriers and develop a more positive attitude to the subject.
Parents often find it useful to see the tutor working with their child, as they may wish to reinforce the learning with their child in between tutorials. Praecept tutors are happy to discuss a child’s progress with their parents at the end of each tutorial and set homework tasks if appropriate.
Home Tuition – Small group (up to 4 students) £45 per hour
Praecept tutors can also cater for small groups of up to 4 children where families wish to spread the cost. This does make home tutoring a very affordable option.
We are also able to match students with similar ability and educational needs, where parents have expressed an interest in small group tuition, but are unable to find other families to make up the group numbers themselves.
Online Tutorials £12 per half hour
Interactive online tutorials take place in the comfort of the student’s home using Skype video conferencing. By sharing their screen with students, tutors are able to provide a wealth of interesting computer-based resources and observe students’ responses to questions posed and tasks set.
Our on-line service is ideal for children with a busy schedule of other clubs and activities, as it allows for a greater flexibility in the timing and duration of sessions, which can be changed at short notice. This flexibility also allows children to access support with homework when needed.
Before you book, we will check that you have successfully downloaded the Skype software onto your computer and go through a 15 minute test tutorial, free of charge. You will need to download Skype software from www.skype.com and ensure that your computer has a webcam installed.
Combined Package (60m Home tutorial + 15m Online Tutorial)
£30 per 75mins
Where children need extra reinforcement of the key points of learning, we are able to provide them with a 15 minute online tutorial in between each hour-long home tutorial. This is a great way of helping maintain progress and develop independence. Many children find that short, focused revision of key skills and concepts helps consolidate understanding and aids memory.
