Literacy and numeracy
Development of literacy and numeracy skills,
By placing learning experiences within the context of home-based childcare, our tutors are able to teach children a wide range of literacy or numeracy skills, in an engaging and enjoyable way.
Praecept tutors work in close cooperation with both our educational advisor and parents in order to provide appropriate learning experiences in literacy and numeracy, from the Foundation Stage of learning through to Key Stage 3.

Learning opportunities are carefully planned to cater for your child’s individual needs and respond to their interests. Each type of activity will depend on your child’s age and ability. Initial assessment of your child by the educational consultant will determine the objectives set for the Educational Programme.

Our tutors are equipped with a range of attractive resources to support the development of literacy and numeracy skills. They are also able to share ideas and resources with other Praecept tutors, at regular workshops, held throughout their placement with your family.
